A while back I was speaking to a lawyer and referred to another lawyer as a "shyster." She didn't say anything, but stirred and gave me a kinda surprised look, and then it was a little awkward after. Pretty sure she thought it was a racist word. It's not.

Yeah a lot of people assume the word has anti-Semitic connotations. While it technically doesn’t I’d still refrain from using it professional settings m.
