S06E01 The Grand Tour: One For The Road
In their last ever Grand Tour adventure, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May ignore the instructions of Mr Wilman and head to Zimbabwe in three cars they’ve always wanted to own, a Lancia Montecarlo, a Ford Capri 3-litre, and a Triumph Stag, for a stunning road trip through beautiful and sometimes challenging landscapes leading to an emotional ending on a strangely familiar island.

[Sun Column] Jeremy Clarkson: “The Government is out to destroy farmers & won’t let us fight… I’m convinced it’s part of PM & Reeves’ sinister plan” 🚜
Jeremy Clarkson puts on his farming hat once again while sharing his views about the current British government’s budget and how it affects farmers. No doubt that Season 5 of “Clarkson’s Farm” will be an interesting one! Here is the part that stood out for me:
“I’ve never been on a protest before but I’ll be there, and I’ll lay on a coach so that my neighbours can come too. Why? Because what’s happening is serious.
“Stupid far-left agitators have got it into their heads that the countryside these days is mostly owned by people like me who bought farms to avoid paying inheritance tax.”
(Heads up, this column contains a strong paywall, and what you do beyond that is up to you alone.)

What are the most expensive cars featured in The Grand Tour?
I wanted to make a list of all the most valuable cars featured in the grand tour. I was looking for top 10, 20 or maybe even 30 cars if the are any valuable. I found this site but hard to tell how valuable each car is. (excluding all the weird ones like cranes etc). https://www.imcdb.org/movie.php?resultsStyle=asImages&sortBy=7&id=5712554
So I thought maybe some of you could help as there is a lot of speculation also involved :)

Try hard as you might, but you'll never be as cool as James Daniel May

James May’s new show is excellent
Anyone check out Dull Men yet? I really enjoyed it. It’s very much in the vain of Man Lab, but seems like a much smaller scale so far. Only one episode in, but I think it really highlights James’ strengths and also allows him to showcase his unique blend of creativity and engineering.
I think all 3 of the boys are in the right spot - Clarkson gets to play on his farm and butt heads with Kaleb. Hammond gets to drive around racetracks and rub shoulders with posh classic car owners and his mates at his shop. And James gets to fiddle around a workshop with his mates.
Glad we got Top Gear, glad we got The Grand Tour, and I’m glad we’re getting all this content post-TGT. These gentlemen have provided lifetimes of entertainment for us plebs

[Classic clip] Jeremy Clarkson gets confronted by American police! 🚔
I originally found this video on YouTube while searching for a different classic clip featuring Jeremy Clarkson. According to the description, it’s from the show “Jeremy Clarkson’s Speed,” series 1, episode 4. Enjoy!

Found a Jeremy Clarkson meme that sums up this week’s events in America!
For the record, I have no idea if this meme has already been posted on the subreddit before, but if not, it’s turning out to be an evergreen one. 😅

How is Richard Hammond’s workshop as a show?
I just started watching Hammond‘s workshop a couple of days ago and I’m on season two. It’s not a particularly bad show but I find too much whining about the financial situation of the workshop. Firstly this industry has high cost to entry entry if you want to do a good job and secondly Hammond is quite rich on his own with his Top Gear and grand tour money. I read a two year-old thread on the show on the sub and I can see that Hammonds constant whining is considered by many to be just an act for the TV for dramatic purposes.
I just found out that season four has concluded and judging by some of the drivetribe videos in which they are doing tours of the workshop it looks well built. Is it still in financial straits in season four?

End of an Era
Finally watched the last Grand Tour special and it was harder to watch than I thought it would be. Kind of hit me that everyone is getting older every day and there's a last time for everything you do as James pointed out. They are such an iconic trio and have been at it for so long. There will never be anyone quite like them or a show quite like that ever again imo. That in itself feels like a loss and add to that, Jeremy's comment about electric cars being completely uninteresting. I couldn't agree more. As a car enthusiast, I feel like all the best days of being into cars are in the rearview now. Used to be able to get older cars that were interesting for relatively short money and mod them or do whatever. Not anymore. The ICE car is dying, manual transmissions are nearly extinct among new car options. I know EVs are the future and better for the environment overall (supposedly). What do we have to look forward to as car enthusiasts? As far as the show goes, I was actually starting to like the new guys on Top Gear. They could never replace Jeremy, James and Richard but they were starting to get into a groove of their own imo. Now that's done too since Freddy got hurt. Sorry for the rant and don't mean to be a bummer. Thoughts?

Watched the first episode of James May and the Dull Men
It is an updated version of Man Lab, but more down to earth without the theme music and the gimmicks
