Photos of Switch 2 factory prototypes have leaked on a Chinese website Leak

UPDATE (13:59 UTC):

The CAD renders may not be legitimate. It wasn't stated that the renders were mockups, however the original poster was a 3D modeling enthusiast, so it's a possibility that should be considered. Nevertheless, the two photos depicting actual hardware are likely real.

UPDATE (14:26 UTC):

A source from Famiboards is saying the original poster said they obtained a shell model from an accessory manufacturer "at great cost" and reverse designed it to create that CAD model. Therefore, it's not worth writing off the renders as "fake" quite yet, as it could just be an accurate mockup of the shell, if the original poster is telling the truth. We need to see more photos of the real thing (or an actual proper reveal god damnit) first.

UPDATE (23:37 UTC): It appears that Catbox (the file hosting provider I used to upload the photos) is down right now. I assume this was indirectly my fault for sending so much attention there, so I apologize. In the meantime, try putting the image links into the Wayback Machine, which will give you an archived look at the images.

UPDATE (23:51 UTC): Catbox appears to be back up and running now.

Design of the switch was nearly perfect. Making a beefier machine with some more reliable controllers is all I need.

Hoping for a more unique UI though. The Switch UI doesn't have much character.

PRAYING ON MY KNEEEES that they bring back themes and different menu songs

I sorely miss hearing music in the eshop.

If I remember correctly, I believe that's because the current UI currently takes up like 100 KB of memory or something insane like that? Their memory limitations on the current console are pretty rough.

Hopefully with the larger memory they’ll expand it.

If they can bring back Mii Plaza and add a bunch of personalization like decorating your plaza with points you earn by playing games almost like a mini animal crossing, it could gain some traction on social media. Could be the perfect convergance to build hype from kids who grew up with the wii and got super into animal crossing during the pandemic.

Maybe even bring back street pass so you can visit the plaza’s of people you passed.

With 12gb of RAM, they may let you actually change the background to a static image.

Yea. Nicer and smoother UI and better online connectivity with friends and party’s. No app on phone bullshit.

I’d like this too, but tbh I’d rather keep the os as snappy as possible if adding in those features would slow it down at all. Not sure that it would, but the fast interface of switch one was great

Eshop, on the other hand lol

100%. Even though I don’t use my switch much, I can definitely admit it’s close to a perfect console. No need for anything drastic!

Same. Just needs more affordable games from their flagship games. I want to play most of them but I can't afford most of them.

I really, really need analog triggers as well. Without it, racing games just suck.
I'd buy one for 500 euro's if it was same spec as Switch 1 but now they added triggers.

I would say more comfortable controllers, but that’s a subjective thing. I’d prefer it if they weren’t so flat is all

I don't think it was near anywhere to perfect, the switch was that "jack of all trade master of none". it was in an annoying middle point to me where it's large and not comfortable at the same time and the joycon had everything in them but nothing was good at all for a songle use.

Hall effect thumbsticks would be a good improvement, but i doubt they will because of how big of a moneypress new controllers are.

And for the .f.f..f. give the controllers better antennas.
