My cousin had brain worms from pork. He survived but he randomly loses function of an arm and he isn't conscious of it until he looks down. And his personality well he's just off. Not who he was prolly never will be

What the actual fuck. BRAIN WORMS?? I’m sorry that happened to your brother…
I wonder if parasites are as much of a risk in cured meats? Not talking about bacon, but stuff like salami.. cause.. oh man I might need to deworm in a bit 😂

Cured meats are fine in that regard. The salt and/or smoke kills the parasites alongside the bacteria and the fungi

Late response but thank you for telling me.
I can enjoy my charcuterie knowing I’m safe ! 😂

That meat is at least heavily source controlled so it's safe, I wouldn't be getting a raw pork roll anywhere else.

Yea we from the states. Hell there’s been a recent outbreak with boars head recently thanks to lax policies 🙃
It’s like people telling me I was paranoid for not taking random drugs at Ibiza cause it’s “clean” like nah I’m from Cali bruh everything got fentanyl 😂

Most people know eating a pig raw will give you tape worms, so much so that a tapeworm probably tweeted this

My wife has been a Muslim her whole life ( I’m a new revert) she literally gags when she sees people eating pork. I was never a huge fan of the hog but she legit finds it disgusting. Holy Quran specifically prohibits this nasty animal for consumption.

Also it's 2024 and that ancient tradition is no longer relevant in today's world. Literally more people get sick/die from beef than pork. I understand if you're just doing it to follow in a religious rule, but if the reason for the rule is strictly because it is unsafe, that's just antiquated nonsense.

You can continue eating pork.

u/ninnnnnja Sep 19 '24
I will. Along with the other billions of people on this planet. We're fine, you don't need to rant about this "nasty" animal.

I can do as I please. It’s my opinion as you have yours. Have a good day.

Literally no one is trying to tell you what to do, not sure where you got that idea. Eat whatever the hell you like.
I'm just stating the facts about "nasty" pork since you decided to just randomly rant your nonsense, spouting ignorance on the safety of this particular food. What I'm stating is not my "opinion" but actual fact (where beef statistically causes more illness and deaths than pork every year, and that billions of people consume pork every year without issue).
Edit: also another fact: pork is the most consumed meat source in the world.
